Our Father in Heaven, as every day passes; those of us in law enforcement recognize that we need Your Presence in our lives more than ever. We again come right now before your Throne of Grace to lift up another wounded law enforcement officer—this time in Richmond Heights. As the news reports indicate he is in serious condition, we seek Your Amazing Grace and ask You to guide the doctors minds and hands and grant them wisdom to effectively treat this officers injuries and restore him to complete health. As this incident is still active as of this prayer request, we know a number of officers are rallying at his side in the hospital. May your grace and peace also be with them grant them mercy to carry them through this difficult time as they are concerned about their friend and co-worker. Lord, as this is to be a season of joy, may your peace that passes all understanding especially be upon the family of this wounded officer and uphold their hearts and minds with your grace. As the news indicates a suspect has been wounded and the scene is now secure, may You grant investigators wisdom to be able to gather all of the facts surrounding this incident. May these words from Psalms bring encouragement to many, “Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me; all day long they press their attack. My slanderers pursue me all day long; many are attacking me in their pride. When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?” Lord, we are so thankful that Your word encourages us to know that even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we know You will be there right with us. So Lord, we ask You to send Godly officers, chaplains and others to support their wounded colleague and his family. And if this wounded officer does not know You, may he know that Your word says that Now is the day of salvation. May he and many other officers receive You as Savior and Lord. May the suspect also be granted mercy and may this suspect also come to know Your love and forgi eness. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
