Our Father in Heaven, We come before Your wonderful Throne of Grace to lift up Deputy Christopher Lester and are ever so grateful to YOU for sparing his life. As the news reports indicate he was wounded in the foot and has been released from the hospital, we know that life-threatening encounters can be very emotional; not only for the deputy, but to his colleagues and family as well. We therefore seek Your peace that passes all understanding to descend upon them and draw them ever so close to Your Side. We are so thankful the suspect is in custody so that no other law enforcement officers will be injured. May You use the dash video of this incident as training aid to prevent other officers from enduring attacks like this. As we know Deputy Lester’s family were deeply affected by this near loss of their loved one, may Your grace, peace, mercy and comfort guard their hearts and minds and sustain them with Your arms of love. May Your Amazing grace continue to touch the heart of Deputy Christopher Lester. May Your grace and mercies also be upon the many other law enforcement officers, medics and medical professionals who were involved in the initial care and treatment of this wounded officer and suspect as we know they may often experience the same emotional trauma as the wounded deputy. Continue to grant Deputy Lester with Your amazing grace to carry him through the days ahead. May You preserve his heart and mind in order to prevent him from enduring any long-term emotional trauma. And if Deputy Lester or even the wounded suspect does not know Your love, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they can seek Salvation found only in Your Son—our IMMANUEL. May your name be forever glorified, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
