Our Mighty Lord, we thank You for the quick action of this wounded Naval police officer and we thank You for the invention of the Kevlar vest. So, we, again, come before Your Throne of Grace with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving that the life of another one of Your peacemakers was spared by Your mercies. Lord, we lift up this wounded officer into Your Presence Lord and ask for Your healing touch to continue to be upon her as she has been treated and released from a hospital. We are so thankful the Kevlar vest save her. May You reveal to the heart and mind of this officer Your amazing and unending love, grace, peace and comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your love, grace, mercy peace and comfort especially touch the family of this wounded officer as they are at her side supporting and loving him at this very emotional time. May Your grace additionally extend to the many other military co-workers and friends of this officer and uphold them with Your arms of love. Lord, we also ask You to give the federal investigators wisdom as they piece together the details of this terrorist attack in which the suspect died. May Your mercies, Your Presence and grace gently settle upon the hearts and minds of the men and women of the U.S. Naval Police and draw them ever so close to Your side for comfort. May Your love and grace extend to the many other officers, firefighters, paramedics and first responders who responded to that scene and surround them with Your love as they had to witness this carnage up close. May Your word as follow strengthen every Naval law enforcement officer, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” And, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” May Your Holy Spirit reveal the Love of Your Son to the many who were present at that scene. And if the wounded officer or any other officer does not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they may have an opportunity to receive Your Son as they Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
