Our Merciful, gracious and Holy Lord, we come with urgency before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a wounded Cobb County Police Officer shot in the head. As the news reports he was alert upon admission to a hospital, we ask You, Lord, to grant the medical staff treating him with supernatural wisdom. May the medical staff be guided by Your Holy Spirit in their treatment of this wounded officer to bring about a full recovery. As we know this wounded officer’s family is at his side loving and supporting him at this very emotional time, we ask for the sweet comfort of Your Holy Spirit to settle upon their hearts and minds and bring them Your peace that passes all understanding. As the family, friends and co-workers are rallying at his side, may they know Your word says to, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” And as Your word says, “I will never leave your nor forsake you”, we place our hearts and trust in Your Hands, O’ God. May Your grace, mercy, peace, presence, comfort and love touch this wounded officer’s family members and especially the many men and women of the Cobb County Police Department who are at his side right now. As a number of other officers were present and rushed their wounded co-worker to the hospital, may these officers know the they are God’s servants for good according to Your Word. Lord, we join with the Cobb County Police Department and entire law enforcement community and lift them into Your Hands of love and mercy. May those officer and family members who were especially close to this wounded officer know Your Word says to, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” May the suspects family also be consoled and may they, too, come to know Your amazing love, grace, peace and forgiveness. So Lord, as we lay our hurts and sorrows at Your feet, may Your Holy Spirit guard every person’s heart and mind at all times. May Your amazing grace be made real to your wounded peacemaker. And if he does not know Your love, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your love. May he be given an opportunity supernaturally receive You into his heart as Savior and Lord. May he and many others know the everlasting life available only in Your Son, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
