Our Merciful and Gracious Lord, we come with broken hearts before Your Throne of Grace to again lift the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department into Your arms of love and mercy as they endure this tragic loss of a Deputy Dylan Pickle and seriously injured Deputy Zach Wilbanks.  May those grieving and mourning ever so greatly know Your Word says, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Lord, we ask You to abundantly pour out Your love, grace, peace, mercy, Presence and most of all Your comfort upon them. So Lord, we bring the family of this fallen deputy into Your Presence and ask You to wrap Your arms of love and grace around them and carry them through this very difficult and totally unexpected time of loss. We also lift up Deputy Zach Wilbanks before Your Throne of Grace. May You grant the doctor’s wisdom and insight to identify his injuries and apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. As we know there were many law enforcement officers, paramedics, fire fighters, medical personnel and first responders involved in that horrific scene. May each of them sense Your grace and mercy carrying them through this difficult time as they had to see that carnage up close.  As we know some may be faced with enduring the emotional fallout from this incident, may Your grace prevent them from enduring any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. And Lord, as the men and women of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department must again, begin the difficult preparations to say a final farewell to their fallen comrade, may You draw many with broken hearts ever so close to Your Side. May You additionally raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a light in this dark time. May Many be drawn to Your side for Your word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May You bring peace in the middle of this storm, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen
