Our Gracious Lord, It is with great earnest that we come unto Your Throne of Grace to lift up a critically wounded Dayton Police officer into Your Arms of Loving Care. As the news reports indicate he was shot in the head, we come into Your Presence Lord, the Great Physician, and ask for Your mercies and grace to intervene and touch this officer from head to toe. May You, first, grant the medical staff with natural and supernatural wisdom to use their skills and training to diagnose and render the correct treatment in order to fully restore Your injured servant to complete health. May Your love, presence, mercy, grace and peace especially settle upon his family who are rallying at his side as we know they are filled with a multitude of emotions, anxiety and concern. May your grace and love especially touch the many other Dayton Police officers and first responders who were first on the scene to render first aid to their wounded comrade. May Your presence and peace sustain also them and uplift them with Your grace. Grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together the details of this incident in which the suspect was shot and has died. We especially lift up every member of the Dayton Police Department as they love and support the family of their injured brother and each other at this very difficult time. Grant these law enforcement officers Your amazing grace to carry them through difficult days ahead. And if this wounded officer does not know Your love, may You supernaturally speak to his heart and mind and reveal to him that, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” May this wounded officer be given an opportunity to receive You as Savior and Lord. May many law enforcement officers be drawn unto Your side Lord. May You heal this wounded officer in any way that will bring Glory to Your Name. Finally, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a tremendous support to any in need. May many be drawn to the Love of Your Son in whom we can cast all of our cares upon for You said, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” O’ Lord, Grant rest to those with weary souls. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, Amen.
