Our Father in Heaven, these past few weeks have been extremely tough for the men and women of the New York Police Department. O’ God, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace as we seek Your unfailing love and mercies upon the men and women of the New York City Police Department. Lord, our hearts are numb with grief and sorrow at this tragic loss of this New York Police officer. First, Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift the second officer who was shot and is said to be in critical condition, and we place him into Your care and Love. May You grant the doctors with both natural and supernatural wisdom to effectively treat this wounded officer and restore him to full health for You are the Great Physician. As we know this attack and loss has hit the men and women of the New York Police Department especially hard, may You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to be a support and help at this very emotional time. O’ Lord, seek Your continued protection upon Your peacemakers across America. O’ God we need You! We especially lift up the families of these two officers and place them into Your loving Arms. May they be deeply and intimately filled with Your amazing grace and compassionate love. May Your Holy Spirit be made real in everyone’s heart and sustain them through this very difficult time. Lord, we need Your grace more than anything to be upon the entire New York Police Department. May Your unending mercies, unfailing love and peace provide supernatural strength to them at this time of loss. Lord, we also want to lift up the small army of law enforcement officers and countless paramedics, fire-fighters and other first responders who were at that scene who had to witness the tragedy. May You encamp Your angels around them and supernaturally sustain them with Your peace, mercy and grace. Grant the investigators supernatural wisdom as they piece together the facts of this incident. Finally Lord, may You continue to provide wisdom to law enforcement officers across America and the world to remember their training and always use sound tactics. May Your Holy Spirit gently settle upon the New York Police Department and allied agencies and strengthen them with Your Holy Spirit. Touch the hearts of every member of the many law enforcement agencies assisting in this very difficult situation. May You protect the heart, mind and spirit of every member of the New York Police Department and draw them unto Your Son for strength at this loss of a dear friend and co-worker. May Your love reign supreme and may many law enforcement officers come to receive Your Son into their heart as their Savior and Lord who will carry them through difficult days. And as they will be having to make preparations for a final farewell for this fallen officer, may You be magnified center stage at this service. O’ Lord, may You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to be a representative of Your Light. May You bring about good through this difficult incident. May every officer know they are God’s Servant for Good. Once again Lord, spare the life of this second officer fighting for his life. May they forever be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might and always put on the whole armor of God, In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
