Our Gracious Lord, we come with deeply broken hearts before Your Throne of grace to lift the men and women of the Joplin Police Department in this horrific attack on three Joplin peacemakers—two critically wounded and one who was fatally wounded. O’ God, our hearts go out to the entire Joplin Police Department as they endure this senseless and intentional attack on three of their co-workers. We first want to lift up the two wounded officers fighting for their lives. May Your mercies and healing touch be upon both of these deputies. May You continue to make available to them the correct medical professionals at the hospital and grant these medical specialists with supernatural wisdom and insight to provide to most effective treatment to bring about a full recovery and healing to both officers. May Your mercies settle upon both officers and may Your peace be made ever so real in their hearts and minds because of Your love and grace. May Your arms of love surround the families of both officers as they are at the hospital supporting them at this very emotional time. May You be a Shield around them be the lifter of their hearts and minds. We especially lift up the family of the fallen Joplin officer. May You surround them with Your Arms of love and grant them your amazing grace as they are in deep mourning and sorrow at this loss of their loved one. May Your hands of protection, mercy and grace be with the many other law enforcement officers who were involved in that deadly incident in which the suspect also died. Surround every law enforcement officer with Your Protecting Arms and keep them all safe from any harm or danger at all times. Finally, may Your mercy, grace and peace especially touch the men and women of the Joplin Police Department and allied law enforcement officers and first responders who responded and assisted in that horrific scene. May You prevent any officer from enduring any long-term emotional trauma. May You raise up chaplains and other Godly officers to be available to pray for and support their co-workers at emotional time and may Your word as follow comfort hurting hearts, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest”, and “humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time, casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.” In the coming days as a final farewell service will be prepared, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to magnify Your Son and point many unto Him in who there is everlasting life. May many officers, family members, friends and co-workers be drawn to Your Son in whom there is eternal life. If any officer does not know Your love and forgiveness, may they know that now is the acceptable time, that now is the day of salvation. May many receive You as their Savior and Lord. May Your grace continue to touch both wounded officers and bring about a full healing. May Your Holy Spirit speak to the hearts of both wounded officers and if they do not know You personally, may You lead someone to tell them of Your love, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
