Our Father in Heaven, we come before Your throne of grace, to lift up the members of the Bluffton Police Department in the loss of their dear friend and colleague, Officer Dominic Francis. O’ Lord, as we lift them into Your presence, may Your comfort, Presence, mercy and grace carry them through this tragic loss. May Your peace also gently settle upon their hearts and carry them through this difficult time of loss. May you be with the families of every member of the Bluffton Police Department as they mourn this sudden and tragic loss during a pursuit. Lord, as the loss of Officer Francis is felt across the entire law enforcement community, may Your hands of love and mercy touch and uphold the hearts of those who are hurting and in deep sorrow. May your peace that transcend all comprehension especially touch Officer Francis’ family as they endure this sudden and tragic loss of their loved one. Lord, as we are thankful the suspects are in custody, may You grant the investigators wisdom to piece together the facts surrounding the cause of this incident during the deployment of a spike strip during a pursuit. And as the Bluffton Police Department must now begin the task of preparing to say farewell to their dear friend, may Your name be glorified and magnified at the upcoming services. May many officers, family members and friends be drawn to Your Side. May You use this farewell service to point many law enforcement officers unto Your Son in whom there is forgiveness and everlasting life. May You comfort those in need with Your word as follow, “Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.” Finally, may every officer and family member know Your word says, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.“ May You open many hearts and minds and cause many see their need to receive You in their hearts as their Savior and Lord. And for any who may have backslidden, may this be a time of rededication and recommitment to Your Son. May the power of Your Holy Spirit be made evident to all, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
