Lord Jesus, we come into Your Presence to lift up a wounded Deputy U.S. Marshal who was shot on-duty. As the news reports indicate his wound was not considered life-threatening and is being treated at a hospital, we thank you that his life was spared and now ask you, Lord, to grant the doctors and other medical professionals’ wisdom and insight in order to effectively treat and completely restore this deputy marshal to full health. May you especially settle your peace, grace and love upon the family of this wounded deputy marshal as they rally around him to love and support him as he undergoes treatment. May your grace also extend to the men and women of the U.S. Marshals Service and allied agencies who are deeply concerned for their wounded comrade. May your peace that passes all understanding guard the hearts and minds of every law enforcement officer. May Your grant the investigators wisdom to gather the facts surrounding this encounter in which the suspect was also wounded. May the members of the U.S. Marshals Service be granted an extra measure of Your Grace and Mercy as they cope with this attack on one of their co-workers. As we know incidents like this can cause emotional trauma in the present and in the future, we therefore ask you, Lord, to send your endless mercies upon this wounded peacemaker and the other officers and first responders who were initially at that incident and may You preserve their hearts and minds in You. May every member of the U.S. Marshals Service know Your word says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” May Your word as follow touch the hearts of those in need, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” May many officers and family members be granted Your peace that passes all understanding and be given an opportunity to know the Love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ—especially, this was ask in the name of Jesus, Amen.
