Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence, O’ Lord with hearts of praise and gratitude unto You for sparing the life of Pennsylvania State Trooper Jonnie Schooley. As the news reported he was shot in the leg and has been treated at a hospital, we ask for Your continued healing touch to be upon Trooper Schooley and ask you to provide for a full and complete recovery. More importantly, Lord, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon his heart and mind as he must deal with the emotional reality of this life-threatening event. So Lord, may Your grace and your presence touch Trooper Schooley’s heart and mind. May Your mercy, peace and grace be with the men and women of the Pennsylvania State Police as we know this near-death experience can affect them as well. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch the family of Trooper Schooley as they rally around their loved one from this near-death experience. Lord, may You use this near tragedy to draw the members of the Pennsylvania State Police close to Your side to intimately experience the joy and peace provided by Your son. And if Trooper Schooley or any other co-worker or family member does not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son. Lord, may You provide the investigators with wisdom and insight to piece together facts of this incident. As a result of this near-death encounter, may You draw many troopers and family members to Your side and may many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord. May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many other first responders and medical personnel who aided in saving the life of this wounded warrior. May Your words as follows come alive in the hearts of many law enforcement officers, “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. And, “The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
