Our Merciful, gracious and loving Father, our hearts are deeply broken and spirits weak at the continual attacks on Your peacemakers. The law enforcement community across America is once again seeking Your Amazing Grace upon the men and women of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department as they are mourning this tragic loss of one of their co-workers Deputy Andrew Peery. O’ God, Your word says, “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.” Lord, the hearts and spirits of so many are totally devastated at this senseless loss. Nonetheless, we come boldly before Your Throne of grace to seek Your comfort, peace, strength and love to carry so many in need through this extremely emotional time. May You grant the investigators wisdom as they investigate this crime in which the known suspect is at large. O’ God, we ask You grant the investigators with supernatural wisdom, insight and knowledge as they see to locate and arrest this suspect. We ask You, Lord, to cause this suspect to surrender peacefully. And if he should try to use any weapon to harm any more of Your peacemakers, may You cause any weapon to misfire or malfunction. May You cause this suspect to be unable to rest or sleep and may he be filled with confusion and guilt. May Your Holy Spirit speak to his heart to surrender. May You protect every peace officer involved in the manhunt for this suspect. As we know it is ONLY Your word and Your Presence that can carry us through difficult days ahead for Your word says may many be encouraged with Your word as follow, “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”; “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts up my head. I cried to the Lord with my voice, And He heard me from His holy hill.” And, “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him.” So, Lord, may Your Words permeate the heart of every member of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department and many allied peace officers. Grant their investigators supernatural strength to gather the facts from this heinous attack on one of Your peacemaker-servants. May the family of Deputy Peery especially know Your peace that passes all understanding as You carry them through this time of mourning and grieving. May they intimately know Your love, grace, peace, mercy comfort and Presence. In the coming days as the El Paso County Sheriff’s Department will be challenged to prepare a final farewell to their fallen comrade, may You raise up Godly peace officers, chaplains and others to be a representative of Your Son to all. May You use this final farewell to point many law enforcement officers unto the love of Your Son and may many have an opportunity to receive Him as their Savior and Lord. May Your amazing grace settle upon the hearts of those greatly grieving and mourning, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
