Our Merciful, gracious and Holy Lord, we come with urgency before Your Throne of Grace to lift up Richmond Police officer Seara Burton into Your Presence. As the news reports she is in critical condition after being shot in the head, we ask You, Lord, to grant the medical staff treating him with supernatural wisdom. May the medical staff be guided by Your Holy Spirit in their treatment of this young officer to bring about a full recovery should that be Your will. As we know his family is at his side loving and supporting her at this very emotional time, we ask for the sweet comfort of Your Holy Spirit to settle upon their hearts and minds and bring them Your peace that passes all understanding. As the family, friends and co-workers are rallying at her side, may they know Your word says to, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.” And as Your word says, “I will never leave your nor forsake you”, we place our hearts and trust in Your Hands, O’ God. May Your grace, mercy, peace, presence, comfort and love touch this officer’s family members and especially the many men and women of the Richmond Police Department who are at her side right now. As a number of other officers responded to witness this tragedy first-hand, may these officers know they are God’s servants for good according to Your Word. Lord, we join with the Richmond Police Department and entire law enforcement community in Indiana and lift them into Your Hands of love and mercy. May those officer and family members who were especially close to this young officer know Your Word says to, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares We are thankful the suspect is no longer a threat as he was also shot and wounded. So Lord, as we lay our hurts and sorrows at Your feet, may Your Holy Spirit guard every person’s heart and mind at all times. May Your amazing grace be made real to this officer fighting for her life. And if she does not know Your love, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a representative of Your love. May she be given an opportunity supernaturally receive You into her heart as Savior and Lord. May she and many others know the everlasting life available only in Your Son, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
