Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence, O’ Lord with hearts of praise and gratitude unto You for sparing the life of Deputy Tony Nunez `who was shot and was saved because of his Kevlar vest. As we know there will still be some pain and emotional trauma that he must deal with, Lord, we ask for Your continued healing touch to be upon him and ask you to provide for a full and complete recovery. As the suspect is on the loose, may You grant the investigators wisdom to successfully track and arrest the suspect. We are so thankful the suspect surrendered after this confrontation and was arrested. More importantly, Lord, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon the heart and mind of Deputy Nunez as he must deal with the emotional reality of this life-threatening event. May Your grace and your presence touch his heart and mind. As Deputy Nicole Lyons was present during this encounter, may Your grace, peace and comfort touch her heart as she witnessed this near-death encounter first hard. May Your mercy and grace be with the members of the Polk County Sheriff’s Department as we know it can affect others as well. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch his family as they rally around him and support him from this near-death experience. Lord, may You use this near tragedy to draw many unto Your side to intimately experience the joy provided by Your Son. And if Deputy Nunez or any other co-worker or family member does not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son.. As a result of this near-death encounter, may You draw many officers and family members to Your side and may many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord for Your Word says, ‘Come to me all who are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.” ; And, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast.” May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many first responders and medical personnel who aided in treating this wounded warrior. May Your words as follows come alive in the hearts of many law enforcement officers, “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.” O’ Lord, may You stop any more attacks on Your peacemakers across America.
