Our Gracious Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a Cook County Sheriff’s Deputy struck by a vehicle. We also lift up a seriously injured NYPD detective who suffered a severe leg injury from a fall from a hovering helicopter. As the news reports the detective and deputy are both in serious condition, we come into Your Presence Lord, the Great Physician, and ask for Your mercies and grace to intervene and touch them from head to toe. May You continue to grant the medical staff wisdom to use their skills and training to diagnose and render the correct treatment in order to fully restore Your injured servants to complete health. May Your love, presence, mercy, grace, comfort and peace especially settle upon both families who are rallying at their side as we know they are filled with a multitude of emotions, anxiety and concern. May your grace and love especially touch the many other members of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department and NYPD and many other first responders who were first on the scene to render first aid to their injured comrades. May Your presence and peace also sustain them and uplift them with Your grace. Grant the investigators wisdom and insight to piece together the details of these incidents. We especially lift up the men and women of the Cook County Sheriff’s Department and NYPD and into Your Presence. May Your amazing grace, Presence and comfort carry them through the days ahead as they rally around their injured co-workers. And if this injured deputy or detective does not know Your love, may You supernaturally speak to their heart and mind and reveal to them Your word as follows, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” May many law enforcement officers be drawn unto Your side, Lord, as they rally around their injured colleagues. May all peace officers everywhere know Your word says, “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you.” May You heal both injured peacemakers in any way that will bring Glory to Your Name. May You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to be a tremendous support to any in need. Finally, may many be drawn to the Love of Your Son in whom we can cast all of our cares upon. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, Amen.
