Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a wounded Lawrence Police Officer into Your Healing Hands. As the news reports he was shot in a leg. As he has been treated at a hospital and released, we ask You to grant the medical staff wisdom to continue any needed treat to bring about a full recovery. We especially seek Your Amazing Grace and peace to touch the family of this wounded officer as they are likely at this side supporting him at this very emotional time especially this Christmas season. O’ Lord, pour out Your grace upon this wounded officer, his family and especially upon the many other first responders who came to his aid. May You sustain them with Your peace that passes all understanding. Lord, as we are so thankful to You that You Spared the life of this officer and are thankful the suspect will no longer be a threat. So, Lord, pour out Your grace upon the men and women of the Lawrence Police Department as we know this attack on one of their colleagues can and will affect them emotionally, physically and spiritually. We especially ask you to surround every officer with the Lawrence Police Department with the presence of Your Arms of Love and Strength to keep them safe from all harm and danger. As we know this near-death encounter can affect many in varying ways, may they know Your word says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” And, “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” So, Lord, may every officer be drawn ever so near to You by Your Holy Spirit. Grant the investigators wisdom to gather evidence and facts surrounding this investigation. Again, thank You Lord, for sparing the life of your servant. And as this officer continues to be treated and reflects on his near loss of life, may this officer and many others know that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. If this officer does not know You, may he know that. “Now is the acceptable time, now is the day of salvation”, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
