Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up an injured Beaumont officer into Your presence after he was intentionally struck by a vehicle from a pursuit. O’ Lord, as reported in the news, this officers’ injuries are not life-threatening, we are so thankful that it was by Your mercies and grace that You spared this officers life. We are also so thankful that this officer was quickly treated and taken to a trauma center and ask You to continue to grant the medical professionals’ wisdom to be able to render the correct treatment and care and so that he may be fully restored. May Your mercies extend to the many other officers, paramedics, firefighters who rendered aid to this injured officer. As two suspects were shot by law enforcement officers, we are thankful to You, Lord, for sparing the officer’s lives. May Your peace, Presence and comfort especially settle upon the family of this injured officer as they are at his side supporting and loving him through this very emotional time. May You grant the investigators wisdom as they investigate this incident and are thankful all suspects have been arrested. Lord, in the coming days, may You raise up Godly officers, friends or chaplains to continue to minister Your love to the many other Beaumont Police officers, friends and family members so deeply affected by this near tragedy. May this incident draw many ever so close to Your side where there is amazing grace and peace. As these officers cope with the reality of this near-death encounter, may You draw them ever so close to Your side and may You prevent them from enduring any shirt-term or long-term emotional or spiritual trauma. May Your word dwell richly in the hearts of so many as follows, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction…” And, ““Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Finally Lord, If this injured officer, or any other officer or family member does not know Your forgiveness and love, may You use this life-threatening situation to draw many close to Your side where there is never ending love and peace. May many come to receive Your Son into their hearts, for Your Word says, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” May your mercy and grace especially touch the men and women of the Beaumont Police Department and others who were so close to their injured co-worker, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
