Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence, O’ Lord with hearts of praise and gratitude unto You for sparing the lives of Lawrence County Sheriff’s Deputy Joshua Rhoades and Mitchell Police Officer Christian Anderson As the news reports indicate Deputy Rhoades was in serious condition at a local hospital, we ask for Your Healing touch to continue to be upon him and to grant the medical doctors wisdom and insight in order to provide for a full and complete recovery. May Your grace additionally touch Officer Christian Anderson who was shot once and has since been treated and released from the hospital. Most importantly, Lord, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon the hearts and minds of each of these wounded/injured peacemakers and the large contingent of law enforcement officers who were at that scene. As they must deal with the emotional reality of this life-threatening event. May Your grace and your presence especially touch these wounded peace officers hearts and minds as they faced this near-death encounter. May Your Presence, mercy and grace be with the members of the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department and Mitchell Police department and many officers from other allied agencies as we know it can affect other co-workers as well. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch the family of these wounded peace officers as they rally around their loved one after this near-death experience. Lord, may You use this near tragedy to draw the members of the many law enforcement agencies unto Your side where many can intimately experience the joy provided by Your Son. And if Deputy Rhoades, Officer Anderson or any other co-workers or family members do not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son. Lord, we ask You to provide the investigators with wisdom and insight as they investigate this attempted murder on your servants in which the suspect also died. May Your mercies and Your Presence continue to protect all law enforcement officers from all harm and danger every day. Most importantly Lord, as a result of this near-death encounter, may You draw many deputies and officers and family members to Your side and may many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord. May Your word as follows bring comfort to many, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.“ May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many other peace officers, first responders and medical personnel who aided in saving the life of these wounded warriors. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
