Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up a seriously wounded Pinellas County Sheriff’s Deputy into Your presence. O’ Lord, as the news reported that this deputy suffered several wounds, we are so thankful that it was by Your mercies and grace that You spared his life. We are also so thankful that he was quickly treated and taken to a trauma center and ask You to continue to grant the medical professionals’ wisdom to be able to render proper treatment and care and so that he may be fully restored. May Your mercies extend to the many other law enforcement officers, paramedics and firefighters who rendered aid to this injured peace officer. As another law enforcement officer had to use deadly force in which the suspect died, may Your mercy and grace touch those who were involved in that deadly incident. May Your peace and comfort especially settle upon the family of this injured deputy as they are at his side supporting and loving him through this very emotional time. May they know Your word says, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand." May You grant the investigators wisdom as they gather the facts surrounding this incident. Lord, in the coming days, may You raise up Godly officers, friends or chaplains to continue to minister Your love to the many other officers, friends and family members so deeply affected by this near tragedy. O’ Lord, pour out Your grace upon the entire Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department as they come to grips with the near loss of a co-worker. May this incident draw many close to Your side where there is amazing grace and peace. May Your word dwell richly in the hearts of so many as follows, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction…” And if any deputy, co-worker or family member does not know Your forgiveness and love, may You use this life-threatening situation to draw many close to Your side where there is never ending love and peace. May those in need intimately know Your word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.“ May many come to know Your amazing grace and receive Your Son into their hearts, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
