Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence, O’ Lord with hearts of praise and gratitude unto You for sparing the life of New Albany Police Cpl. Andrew Byrne, a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper and an injured Tonawanda Police Officer. As the news reports each peace officer is in the hospital being treated, we ask for Your Healing touch to continue to be upon them and to grant the medical doctor’s wisdom and insight in order to provide for a full and complete recovery. May Your grace touch each of these law enforcement officers and draw them unto your side. Most importantly, Lord, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon the hearts and minds of the many other law enforcement officers who were at those scenes as we know so many peace officers must deal with the emotional reality of these life-threatening event. May Your grace and your presence especially touch these wounded/injured peace officers’ hearts and minds as they each faced their near-death encounters. May Your Presence, mercy and grace also be with the members of the New Albany Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Tonawanda Police Department as we know these incidents can affect other co-workers as well. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch the family of these wounded/injured peace officers as they rally around their loved one after these near death experiences. Lord, may You use this near tragedy to draw the members of the many law enforcement agencies unto Your side where many can intimately experience the joy provided by Your Son. And if this wounded law enforcement officers or any other co-workers or family members do not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son. Lord, we ask You to provide the investigators with wisdom and insight as they investigate these incidents. May Your mercies and Your Presence continue to protect all law enforcement officers from all harm and danger every day. Most importantly Lord, as a result of these near-death encounters, may You draw many peace officers and family members to Your side and may many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord. May Your word as follows bring comfort to many, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.“ May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many other peace officers, first responders and medical personnel who aided in saving the life of these warriors. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
