Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence, O’ Lord, and lift an Albuquerque Police officer and a Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy before Your Throne of Grace. As the news reports indicate the Albuquerque SWAT officer was shot in an arm and has been released from the hospital, we are so grateful his life was spared, O’ Lord. We especially lift a critically injured Summit County Sheriff’s Deputy into Your healing arms as he is fighting for his life after being struck by a vehicle. We ask for Your Healing touch to continue to be upon him and to grant the medical doctor’s wisdom and insight in order to accurately diagnose his many injuries and provide for a full and complete recovery. Most importantly, Lord, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon the hearts and minds of each of these wounded/injured peacemakers and the large contingent of law enforcement officers who were at both scenes. As they must deal with the emotional reality of this life-threatening event. May Your grace and your presence especially touch these wounded/injured peace officers hearts and minds as they faced this near-death encounter. May Your Presence, mercy and grace be with the members of the Albuquerque Police Dept. and a Summit County Sheriff’s Dept. and many officers from other officers as we know it can affect other co-workers as well. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch the family of these peace officers as they rally around their loved ones after this near-death experience. Lord, may You use these near tragedies to draw the members of the many law enforcement agencies unto Your side where many can intimately experience the joy provided by Your Son. And if either of these wounded/injured peace officers or family members do not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son. Lord, we ask You to provide the investigators with wisdom and insight as they investigate both of these incidents. May Your mercies and Your Presence continue to protect all law enforcement officers from all harm and danger every day. Most importantly Lord, as a result of these near-death encounters, may You draw many deputies and officers and family members to Your side and may many come to receive You as their Savior and Lord. May Your word as follows bring comfort to many, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.“ May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many other peace officers, first responders and medical personnel who aided in saving the life of these wounded warriors. This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
