Our Father in Heaven, we join with Nevada Highway Patrol and entire law enforcement community in mourning the on-duty traffic fatality of two Nevada State Troopers who were struck by a vehicle. O’ Lord, we come boldly into Your Presence to seek Your mercy and grace to settle upon the men and women of the Nevada Highway Patrol and every law enforcement officer who operate a motor vehicle or motorcycle and place Your hands of protection upon them. As we know this loss has affected many co-workers ever so greatly, may Your love, grace, mercy and comfort touch their hearts and souls as they go through this very difficult time of mourning. May they intimately sense Your Presence and Your Strength carrying them through this time of loss. And as the family members of these troopers are in obvious mourning and deep sorrow, may Your Holy Spirit be with them and give them strength to carry them through the coming days. May the families come to deeply sense Your Presence in their hearts and souls for You said You would never leave them nor forsake them. May You grant the law enforcement investigators with wisdom from on high to investigate this incident and gather facts surrounding this collision. May You use this tragedy to draw law enforcement officers in Nevada and across America to be aware of their mortality and to come to know You in a personal way. In the coming days as the men and women of the Nevada Highway Patrol make preparations to say a final farewell to their fallen troopers, may You raise up chaplains and Godly officers to be a light to the world in the midst of this tragedy. May Your good news be clearly presented to those in need and may any law enforcement officer, friend or family member be given an opportunity to receive Your Son into their hearts and receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life. May many take to heart that your word says, “Come near to God and he will come near to you.” And, “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” May You take this tragedy and bring about good to the entire Nevada law enforcement community, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
