Our Merciful Lord, this week has been tough for law enforcement officers across America as they operate emergency vehicles while protecting and serving their communities. We come before Your Throne of grace to lift up the Preble County Sheriff’s Dept. in the on-duty fatality of Deputy Joshua from a head-on collision. As this loss has deeply affected the entire Preble County Sheriff’s Department, may Your Presence, comfort, grace and mercy touch them as they cope with this loss of a dear friend and co-worker. We also want to come before Your Throne of Grace to lift up an injured Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy and his K-9 into Your healing arms who were in an on-duty collision. As they are both being treated, we ask You to grant the medical specialists with supernatural and natural wisdom to effectively diagnose this officer’s injuries and the K-9’s injuries and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. May Your love, grace, mercy, comfort, love, peace and presence touch the family of this injured deputy and sustain them with Your amazing grace. As the family of Deputy Joshua Hamilton and of this Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy have been affected both emotionally and spiritually this Christmas week, may Your word comfort them as follows, “Be still and know that I am God.” And if this injured Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy does not know You personally, may You raise of Godly officers or chaplains to share the love of Your Son with him. O’ Lord, as we know the pain from the loss of Deputy Hamilton is ever so great, may Your grace and mercies continue to touch those who have been so deeply affected. As countless members of the Preble County Sheriff’s Dept. are in shock and mourning ever so greatly at this loss, may Your Holy Spirit speak to their hearts to know Your word as follows says to, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.“ O’ God, May Your peace that passes all understanding sustain those in need. Grant the investigators in Ohio and California with wisdom and insight to piece together the facts surrounding these incidents. So, Lord, we come boldly before Your Throne of grace to lift all who are deeply grieving and mourning into Your Arms of Love. As the men and women of the Preble County Sheriff’s Dept. will begin to make preparations for a final farewell service for Deputy Hamilton, may You raise up Godly deputies and chaplains to bring hope and grace at this difficult time. And in the weeks to come may many be drawn unto the love of Your Son in whom there is everlasting life and peace. May many receive You, Jesus, as their Savior and Lord, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
