Our Merciful Father, Our hearts are broken today as we grieve with the men and women of the Washington State Patrol in the tragic death of Trooper Christopher Gadd. O’ Lord, as they are mourning this tragic loss, we ask for Your Presence and Grace to be with them as they cope with this loss of a dear friend and co-worker. O’ Lord, we ask You to wrap Your Arms of Love around every member of the Washington State Patrol as they are in deep sorrow and grieving ever so greatly at this terrible loss. May Your peace, love, grace, mercy, Presence and everlasting comfort touch their hearts, minds and souls as they endure this tragic loss. As we know there were likely a handful of troopers and first responders who had to endure witnessing the collision aftermath firsthand, we ask You to pour out an extra measure of Your grace upon them as they had to endure this tragedy up close. And as we intimately know the family members of Trooper Gadd are in shock and mourning ever so greatly, we ask Your Amazing Grace to be made ever so real in their hearts and minds and draw them ever so close unto Your Son to be comforted by His loving presence. As we know there is emptiness in the hearts of so many right now, may they be comforted with Your words as follows, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you. So we say with confidence, The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.” So, Lord, as the Washington State Patrol must now begin the process to say a final farewell to their fallen comrade, may You use that as an opportunity to draw many unto the love of Your Son in whom there is forgiveness and everlasting life. And if any co-workers may have strayed from Your Path, may they be drawn back unto Your Side. Finally, may many hear the good news for the first time that, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” O’ Lord, may You continue to reach into the hearts of every family member and uplift them you’re your loving Arms, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
