Our Mighty Lord, we come before Your Throne of Grace with hearts of gratitude and thanksgiving that the life of another one of Your peacemakers was spared by Your mercies. Lord, we lift up this wounded officer into Your Presence Lord and ask for Your healing touch to continue to be upon him as he has already been treated at a hospital. We are so thankful his Kevlar vest saved him. May You reveal to the heart and mind of this officer Your amazing and unending love, grace, peace and comfort of Your Holy Spirit. May Your love, grace, mercy peace and comfort especially touch the family of this wounded officer as they are at his side supporting and loving him at this very emotional time. May Your grace additionally extend to the many co-workers and friends of this officer and uphold them with Your arms of love. Lord, we also ask You to give the investigators wisdom as they piece together the details of this incident in which the suspect was arrested. May Your mercies, Your Presence and grace gently settle upon the hearts and minds of the men and women of the Baltimore Police Department and draw them ever so close to Your side for comfort. May Your love and grace extend to the many other officers, firefighters, paramedics and first responders who responded to that scene and surround them with Your love as they had to witness this carnage up close. May Your grace additionally settle upon the family of the suspect who died in this incident. May Your word as follow strengthen every law enforcement officer as follows, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” May Your Holy Spirit reveal the Love of Your Son to the many who were present at that scene. And if the wounded officer or any other officer or victim does not know You personally, may Your Holy Spirit draw them unto Your side where they may have an opportunity to receive Your Son as they Savior and Lord. May they know Your word says, “Come to me all who are weary and heavy burdened and I will give you rest”, in the name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
