Our Merciful Lord, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace and into Your Presence, O’ Lord with hearts of praise and gratitude unto You for sparing the life of a Pima County Sheriff’s Deputy Augustine Gonzalez shot in the calf. As he has been treated and released from the hospital, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon his heart and mind as he must deal with the emotional reality of this life-threatening event. May Your amazing grace and your presence touch his heart and mind. May Your mercy and grace be with the men and women of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department as we know it can affect many others as well. As this was an outright ambush attempt to take the life of this peacemaker, may You grant the investigators with supernatural wisdom to swiftly locate and arrest the suspect who fled. As a manhunt is under way, If this suspect tries to harm any other peace officers, may You cause their weapon(s) to misfire or malfunction. May You raise up witnesses and citizens to aid in locating the suspect. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch the family of Deputy Gonzalez as they rally around him from this near-death experience. Lord, may You use this near tragedy to draw the members of the Pima County Sheriff’s Department unto Your side to intimately experience the joy and peace provided by Your son. And if Deputy Gonzalez or any other co-workers or family members does not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son. Lord, we ask You to provide the investigators with wisdom and insight to piece together facts of this shooting. May You continue to draw many officers and family members to Your side and may many come to know and receive You as their Savior and Lord. Again Lord, may the suspect be captured quickly as You supernaturally protect those peace officers involved in the search for the suspect. May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many other first responders and medical personnel who aided in treating this wounded warrior. May Your words as follows come alive in the hearts of many law enforcement officers, “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me.” This we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
