O’ Lord, as this is the ninth attack on a law enforcement officers over the past week, it is unto You, we give our deepest thanks in sparing the life of this Anchorage Police Officer. As the news reports officers were able to take the suspect into custody, we know this incident has emotionally affected many police officers who were present. So, Lord, as the news reports the officer is stable with a leg wound, we ask You to continue to guide the doctors and give them wisdom to continue to treat and fully restore this officer. As this scene is being investigated, grant the investigators insight to be able to gather all of the evidence and facts surrounding this attempted murder on Your servants. May You use this near-death encounter to draw many law enforcement officers ever so close to Your Side. May Your word as follow dwell in the hearts of many, “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise, and I am saved from my enemies.” O’ Lord, may Your amazing grace be made real to this wounded officer and many others who were present. May they know Your love, grace, peace, mercy, presence and comfort carrying them through this emotional time. As we know this near-death encounter has affected the family of this wounded officer, may Your grace touch them and many other families within the Anchorage Police Department who have been affected by this near loss of a loved one. Finally, as incidents like this can cause emotional trauma, may Your grace carry them through this difficult time and draw them close to Your side. If any officer has been spiritually challenged, may You draw them unto Your Son in whom there is everlasting life. May You use this life-threatening encounter to draw many unto Your side, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
