O’ God, we come with deep hearts of thanks and gratitude for sparing the lives of these two Thornton Police Officers wounded in the line of duty. From the bottom of our hearts Lord, we thank You. As the news reports both officers suffered shrapnel wounds, we come before Your Throne of Grace and lift these two officers into Your Presence. May You supernaturally settle Your sweet Presence upon their heart, mind and body as they are being treated from this near-death encounter. Grant the medical doctors and staff wisdom to accurately diagnose their wounds and then apply the correct treatment to bring about a full recovery. We are thankful the suspect is no longer a threat. May Your word as follows resonate in every officer’s heart, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” So Lord, as we know the job of a police officer has been ordained by You, may You continue to touch every Thornton Officer with Your arms of love and mercy. May Your mercy, grace, and comfort also touch the countless paramedics, firefighters and medical personnel who treated these officers in the midst of this near-death encounter. And in the days to come as these officers recover, may Your mercy, love, grace, comfort and presence be upon them and their families as they support them through this recovery process. And if these or any officers have been emotionally and/or spiritually challenged by this near-death experience, may You raise up Godly officers and chaplains to point many unto the love of Your Son. And if any may have strayed from Your path, may You draw them back unto Your side. May Your words touch the hearts of many as follows, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Finally, may Your grace, mercy and Presence be with every Thornton officer, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
