Our Father in Heaven, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace to lift up an Indianapolis Metro Police officer hit by a vehicle and a wounded/injured Gary Police officer into Your presence who was attacked with a machete. O’ Lord, as reported in the news, both officers’ injuries were not life-threatening, we are so thankful that it was by Your mercies and grace that You spared their lives. We are also so thankful that they were quickly treated and taken to a trauma center and ask You to continue to grant the medical professionals’ wisdom to be able to render the correct treatment and care and so that they may be fully restored. May Your mercies extend to the many other officers, paramedics, firefighters who rendered aid to these injured officers. May Your peace and comfort especially settle upon the family of these injured officers as they are at their side supporting and loving them through this very emotional time. May You grant the investigators wisdom as they investigate these incidents in which the suspects are no longer a threat. Lord, in the coming days, may You raise up Godly officers, friends and/or chaplains to continue to minister Your love to the many other Indianapolis Metro Police officers and Gary police officers, friends and family members so deeply affected by this near tragedy. May this incident draw many ever so close to Your side where there is amazing grace and peace. May Your word dwell richly in the hearts of so many as follows, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction…” And if either injured officer, or any other officer or family member does not know Your forgiveness and love, may You use this life-threatening situation to draw many close to Your side where there is never ending love and peace. May many come to receive Your Son into their hearts, for Your Word says, “if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” May your mercy and grace especially touch the men and women of the Indianapolis Metro Police Department and Gary Police Department and others who were so close to their injured co-workers, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
