Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence Lord to lift up Harris County Deputy Constable Sheila Jones and place her into Your loving care after being shot in the line of duty. As news reports she is being treated at a local hospital and may need several surgeries, we are so thankful to you, Lord, that her life was spared. Lord, we ask you to continue to guide the hands of the doctors so that they may continue to render the correct medical care and allow her to be restored to complete health. May Your grace and the power of Your Holy Spirit especially touch the family of Deputy Jones and draw them ever so close to Your side. May she and her family sense Your presence with them right now carrying them through this very emotional time. May Your peace, love, mercy and comfort especially settle upon the hearts and souls of the other officers who were present when this incident occurred in which the suspect was wounded. As we know life-threatening encounters like this can affect co-workers just as much as it did Deputy Jones, we ask for your grace, peace, mercies and comfort to settle upon every law enforcement officer who was involved in that incident and may they experience your amazing grace and presence in their hearts. May every peace officer be drawn to You where they can experience Your abundant peace. And for Deputy Jones and those co-workers who may have been very deeply affected emotionally, may they intimately know they can always cast theirs cares upon you for we know You deeply care for them. May you prevent any of them from experiencing any short-term or long-term emotional trauma. May You grant the investigators with wisdom as they piece together the details of this attack on Your Peacemaker. As we know the men and women of the Harris County Constable’s Office have all been deeply affected at the near death of one of their own, we seek Your grace to touch the hearts and minds of every peace officer and family member. May they all be drawn to Your Side where they may see and know the supremeness of Your Love and Peace. Most importantly Lord, may You reveal the Love of Your Son to many and may they know that now is the day of salvation. If Deputy Jones or any other deputy does not know You personally, may they receive Your Son right now by silently praying in their hearts as follows: “Lord Jesus, come into my life and forgive me for my sins. Fill me with Your Love. I give You my whole life. Take control of my whole being and grant me eternal life.” May Your Holy Spirit touch many lives, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
