Our Gracious Lord Jesus, we come boldly before Your Throne of Grace with hearts of thanksgiving for sparing the life of a New York City Police Officer who was slashed in the face in the line of duty. We, therefore, lift up this wounded officer into Your Healing Arms and ask You to give the treating doctors grace and wisdom as they diagnose and treat her wounds to bring about a full recovery. May You provide this officer with the best continuing care in order to restore him to full health. As other officers wer forced to fire their weapon in which a suspect died, we ask You to grant the investigators wisdom and insight to gather the facts surrounding this incident. We especially lift up the family of this wounded officer as we know they were deeply affected at this attack on their loved one. So, Lord. pour out Your grace upon every member of the New York City Police Department as they rally around their wounded comrade. Lord, may You be a Rock, Fortress and Deliverer to not only Your wounded peacemaker, but to every law enforcement officer who responded to this incident. As we know this wounded officer’s family is with her supporting and loving her, may You pour out Your mercy, love, grace, peace and comfort upon their hearts and souls and carry them through this near-death encounter. And as Your wounded peacemaker reflects on this near-catastrophe, may You Holy Spirit speak to her heart and soul right now in which Your word says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” May the comfort of Your Holy Spirit be ever so real to your wounded servant, his family and the many co-workers with the New York City Police Department. Continue to give the investigators wisdom to gather the facts surrounding this heinous attack. May Your Word as follow, Lord, dwell richly in the hearts of so many who are/were feeling distressed, “He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” May You use this near-death experience to draw many officers unto the love and salvation found only in Your Son. And if this wounded officer does not know You, may You raise up Godly officers to share the love of Jesus with her. Finally, O’ God, touch Your wounded servant and bring about a full healing, in the name of Jesus Christ, our King of Kings and Lord of Lords we pray, Amen.
