Our God of Mercy, we join with the men and women of the Baltimore County Police Department and the Miami Police Department and lift up one officer from each agency before Your Throne of Grace who were critically wounded/injured in the line of duty.   As these officers are in the hospital, may Your presence and healing power continue to descend upon them by Your grace and mercies. O’ Lord, we know You are the Author of Life, the Bread of Life and the Way, the Truth and the Life. We thank You that You are merciful, wise, omniscient, faithful, holy and good and for those reasons, we seek Your amazing grace and the touch of the Master’s Hand to be upon these officers. May You reach inside their physical bodies and begin the healing process according to Your Riches and Glory in Christ Jesus. May these wounded officers, the entire Baltimore County Police Department and the Miami Police Department and their families know Your word says, “My son, be attentive to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh.” Lord, we know each wounded/injured officer is in Your hands. You know all things and You know we earnestly come before Your Throne of Grace to seek Your mercy and grace at this time of need. And if either officer does not know Your love and forgiveness, we ask You to use chaplains, Godly officers and others to share Your love with them and allow them to receive You as their personal Savior and Lord. We are thankful the suspect in the Baltimore incident is no longer a threat. May You surround every law enforcement officer with Your hands of protection. May those officers who’ve been emotionally and/or spiritually challenged from these incidents know, “The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” May they do as King David, who said, “I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” So Lord, may Your mercy, grace, love and comfort settle upon these officers’ family, co-workers and friends as they rally around them. May they know Your word says, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Lord, grant the investigators wisdom as they piece together the facts each incident. May Your peace that passes all understanding be made real in everyone’s hearts. May You use these near-tragedies to draw all men unto Your Son in whom there is forgiveness of sins and everlasting life, in the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
