Our Father in Heaven, we come into Your Presence, O’ Lord with hearts of praise and gratitude unto You for sparing the life of a Los Angeles Police Officer. As the news reported this officer was shot in the torso and was saved because of his ballistic vest, we know there will still be some pain and emotional trauma that this officer must deal with. So, Lord, we ask for Your continued healing touch to be upon him and ask you to provide for a full and complete recovery. We also come in great earnest before Your Throne of Grace and lift Covington County Sheriff’s Deputy Rodney Yates into Your healing arms. As he is fighting for his life, we seek Your divine intervention, O’ Lord. May You provide him the best medical care and spare his life. Most importantly, Lord, we ask for Your amazing grace to settle upon the heart and mind of these wounded peace officers as they must deal with the emotional reality of these life-threatening events. May Your grace and your presence touch these officer’s hearts and minds and draw them unto Your side. May Your mercy and grace be with the members of the Los Angeles Police Department and Covington County Sheriff’s Department as we know it can affect many co-workers as well. May Your peace that passes all understanding especially touch the family of each wounded peace officer as they rally around their loved one from this near-death experience. Lord, may You use this near tragedy to draw the members of the Los Angeles Police Department and Covington County Sheriff’s Department unto Your side to intimately experience the peace provided by Your Son. And if either wounded officer or any other co-worker or family member does not know Your love and forgiveness, may Your Holy Spirit cause many to examine their hearts and draw them to the Love of Your Son, Jesus. Lord, we ask You to provide the investigators with wisdom and insight to piece together facts of these shootings in which the suspects were arrested.. As a result of each near-death encounter, may You draw these wounded peace officers and many other officers and deputies and family members to Your side and may many come to receive You as Savior and Lord. May Your mercies and peace rest upon the many first responders and medical personnel who aided in saving the life of these wounded warriors. May Your words as follows come alive in the hearts of many law enforcement officers, “Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. And, “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” O’ Lord, spare the life of Deputy Yates, this we ask in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
